Germany and Austria 2011 |

At the end of July, we were the guests of our friends, Die Musikfreunde, Laufen, Germany. The highlight for us was singing Byrd's Four Part Mass in Salzburg Cathedral just across the border in Austria, on the first Sunday of the Salzburg Festival. |

We also joined in the final concert of another local festival, singing in the atmospheric courtyard of the Bavarian castle, Triebenbach. We sang a selection of own songs, as well as joining the massed ranks of two German choirs, and children from a local school, to perform Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. |

On the last
day, we held an impromptu rehearsal and concert during a visit to
Hagen Schiffler's
instrument-maker’s workshop, accompanied by his consort of viols. http://www.geigenbau-schiffler.de
